Community Reinvestment Act (CRA)

The Community Reinvestment Act of 1977 (CRA) encourages banks to help meet the credit needs of all segments of the communities where they do business, including low- and moderate-income neighborhoods and individuals.

CRA is designed to encourage banks to help rebuild and revitalize communities in underserved segments of local economies by offering expanded services, sound lending and increased investment that benefit both banks and the communities they serve.
 

In accordance with CRA regulations, WaterStone Bank is required to maintain and, upon request, make available for public inspection a complete public file relating to the bank’s performance in helping to meet community credit needs.
